Hi everyone, I'm Lu and I have returned and would like to meet everybody. xD
I was reading through that Yami thread, it's real long so I decided to make a new topic and reorganize things. ^^
About "Be Beautiful", I think the name of the company you're looking for is Central Park Media. Maybe they have a "subdivision" called Be Beautiful for the specifically yaoi stuff? Anyone know? Thanks DeathDragon for mentioning and introducing Golden Cain, it looks like something I'd like to collect. I haven't heard of it or seen it before, but I'm glad it's yaoi manga in English, and that's yumminess for me.
I did a quick bit of research and found out Kizuna is also being published by Central Park Media. My problem is I don't know when! Is it out yet now? 'Cause I can't trust the dates that are listed. Last time I went to a bookstore was just last Thursday (Oct 14) and didn't find any new yaoi mangas. Didn't see Golden Cain or Yami or Kizuna. (I went to Borders.)
Can we all help me make a comprehensive list of yaoi/shounen-ai manga published in English? Titles, dates, publishers, and authors and all? I'd like to make one for my own reference and also maybe it can help others too. I've got a pretty good steady job now so I've got moneys to spend and build me my own nice private yaoi library. [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
If you can add or correct to this list I'm starting right now, I'll love yous. <3
Here we go, in alpha order:
Descendants of Darkness - Yoko Matsushita, Viz Communications, ??? 2004
I haven't read Yami no Matsuei before but I love the art so I'll be hunting this collection down. Please tell me of the real release dates!
Eerie Queerie - Shuri Shiozu, Tokyopop, ??? 2004
I have the 1st volume 'cause my boyfriend bought it for me. (He's so sweet and knows about my obsession xD) Personally I didn't like it that much... it's just too wacky and the chars are too young. I like more mature-aged bishies. ;] And the art is too "wispy-weak shoujo" for me. If anyone wants to discuss with me more about this manga, feel free. ;]
FAKE - Sanami Matoh, Tokyopop, May 2003
I have the whole series and I love it to death. It's my favorite. The art isn't that great in the first volumes but it improves beautifully as the series progresses. I love the characters and stories... and the consummation!! !! <3
Golden Cain - You?Asagiri, Central Park Media, Aug 2004
I don't have this yet but I'm looking to hunt it down and collect it. Someone please tell me the date it was REALLY released?
Gravitation - Maki Murakami, Tokyopop, Aug 2003
I haven't read this yet, I don't know if it will interest me very much, from flipping through it.
Hands Off! - Kasane Katsumoto , Tokyopop, Oct 2004
I don't know of this will interest me much either...
Kizuna - Kazuma?Kodaka, Central Park Media, August 2004
Has anyone seen this out yet? I want. Gimme the scoop on release dates, dears. ._.
X/1999, CLAMP, Viz, ???
I have flipped through some of these, but I don't think there's enough yaoi for my tastes. I might decide to collect it later just for the pretty art and bishies.
Well, that's all I got so far. I'm thinking of making a website for this, whaddya folks think?
miyun, tell me about Loveless? Is it only in Japanese yet?
*dreams of whenever Bronze/Zetsuai will be published here <3)

aww.. yeah... Loveless is only in japanese so far.. *sighs* and it's really hard to find translations that make sense.... you'd be able to find them for the first two chapters of book 1, and some of book 4, but otherwise... it's too difficult.
there are scanlations on another website of it, but the translations are not accurate, and they don't make any sense anyway. ._.'
Also, i think i can add to your list... there's also "Only the Ring Finger Knows"... it's a shounen-ai manga that came out locally recently... i've not read it yet, and i don't know anything about it, except it's based on a book, and i think it's quite short.
The Yami release dates were some time ago, the Viz website said the 18th of August, but it came out a little later. I know some people have already got it, but as you can see, DD and I are still deprived. KYAAAH!~
hmm. *wonders* DN Angel has some shounen-ai hints, right... ._.' but it's not shounen-ai at all. == blah...
also:
Tokyo Babylon, CLAMP, Tokyopop (dunno date)
Seishiro and Subaru are the couple here... though it's mostly just dropping hints, (Hokuto is determined that they get married or something. XD) and there's no actual kissing or anything. It's really good, but I suggest you read Tokyo Babylon before reading X/1999... VERY IMPORTANT! There's spoilers for Tokyo Babylon in X. >_<; *kills self*

Thanks Myun <3
I found Loveless on Ob-session... now need to find time to read it.
DN Angel has pretty art and bishies... me very tempted, but I need to save my money for the real yaois first. xD
Is Tokyo Babylon the prequel to X/1999?

Obsession's translations for Loveless are not very good. >_<
and yes, Tokyo Babylon is a prequel to X. ^^; according to the Tokyopop Website, the first book came out May '04... ._.
wheew. ._. there are quite a lot of yaoi/shounen-ai titles out now. ^^= I'm surprised. XP it would have been unheard of some time ago, ne....
why do i never find the "adult" ones? o-o;
not that i'd be able to buy them anyway.. == but a girl can always dream.

Hee, I'm a little surprised too, but very happy. But now it's also my job now to support it by buying them all! Mwahahaha! (and get broke and debt o.o)
I just surfed around Amazon.com and found lots of stuff... it found lots of yaoi for me with their 'recommended lists' and stuff. o.0

Teehee... yeah I found it out. Be Beautiful has their own website now www.bebeautifulmanga.com and I already ordered all three of their titles. [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
I'm probably gonna be buying off of Amazon anyway instead of frantically searching stores. They're cheaper, no tax, and you get free shipping... just that I have to wait for them to be delivered. I WANT MY YAOI NOW!

Tokyo Babylon has been out for a while--I have vol. 3 on my bookshelf. I'm waiting rather impatiently for them to get to 6 and 7, the two volumes that were never scanlated, though.
A note for those looking for _Selfish Love_ and _Skyscrapers of Oz_--the copies I picked up (at the local brick and mortar comic store) were shrink-wrapped, which might make normal bookstores nervous of them. (It's highly amusing to see the publisher trying to smooth away the "potential kiddy porn" angle by claiming all the high school students are in college. But still have to wear uniforms. Yeah, right.)
Be Beautiful is a label used by CPM's manga division (fish around www.centralparkmedia.com -- http://www.centralparkmedia.com/cpmdb/presskit.cfm is probably the most useful page on the site). FWIW, a quick check of the site shows the street date for Kizuna vol. 1 was back in August, and vol. 2 is due out this Wednesday.
Gryphon, who spends way too much time tracking this stuff.
